Prayer in action

”Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:39

On our weekly prayerwalk/evangelism time we went to the downtown of Victoria. Just like Jesus sent the disciples, we went out two-by-twos hoping to meet people and share the love of God with them.

As we were praying, we specifically felt to ask the Lord to give His heart for us for the people there, for Jesus to be the bridge and to have more people join us with a heart for evangelism.

One of the teams met a man and a woman in front of a cafe and they got into a conversation with them and found out they had faced some extreme difficulties in their life including not having a home, a job and some relationship/family issues and they also shared their struggles with drugs and alcohol. The team asked if they could pray for them and they were very open. They asked God to show Himself to them and that they would receive freedom, healing and that God would meet all of their needs. As they prayed, they really felt the Lord’s love and compassion for them and felt to emphasize how there’s no depth that is too deep for Him.

After the prayer the woman mentioned how the prayer touched her and that she didn’t know how to put things in words but in the prayer they just did. This was so encouraging to hear. God really knows what’s going on in every single heart and pursues us right where we are.

We continue to pray that our meeting was purposeful for them and that God continues to draw them closer to Him and that they get to see His power and great mercy.
